DCM Challenge

This week at the Daring Card Makers the challenge is to use tartan.

I think these Daisy and Dandelion papers just about pass as tartan and I decided to use my Christmas Bonnie stamp from the Winter Fun set as it has been too long since the Patchwork Pals stamps were out of the packet.
I like the way these papers combine a very pale purple/pink with the traditional red and green which means you can bring those colours into a combination that wouldn't normally gel.

I've got the Liquid Applique out to highlight her outfit.
The greeting has had the larger of the lovely flowery snowflake stamps added in the middle (also from the Winter Fun set). I couldn't decide what colour to stamp it and tired a couple of options on the pale lilac card before I stamped the final image. I'd also toyed with the idea of using a more highly patterned cuttlebug embossing folder for the background and tried it on a white card blank. I decided it was too busy for the project but this meant I had some left overs to use up.
Kept it simple to show off the background pattern and added scraps of paper from the Bonnie card, finished off with a ribbon.

Patch Town ATCs

When I 1st saw Patch Town I thought the stamps looked as though they wouldn't just need to be snowy scenes. I experimented with them on a couple of ATCs
I cut white card to 7 X 2 inches and then folded the longer length in half to give the correct ATC size. I stamped my design in the bottom left of the front page and trimmed round it so that I could see where it would overlap when I stamped the back page.
All water coloured with a bit of twinkling H2Os on the front to try and lift it from the background design.
The swirls and some of the robins are from the Winter Fun set.

A Christmas Wish

Main image stamped using the Patch Town set. I couldn't resist this when I saw it, I can think of so many uses for all those little houses and scenes.

I've added Papermania sticky jewels to the tree and used Stampendous Winter Wonderland embossing powder for the highlights and greeting (which is from an Anna Griffin set).

I've cut and over-sized (8 x 6) base card from the DCWV All Dressed Up pad.

The border is from the stamped from the Winter Fun set.

I {heart) Patchwork Pals

I think you can tell from the title, IYPatchwork Pals, especially the stamps. So I have decided to set up a blog as a gallery for my PP projects. I think they are going to feature quite a lot on my Christmas cards and gifts this year. I certainly have lots of projects planned to keep me busy.

Patchwork Pals are made by Kanban and are distributed through QVC in the UK. You can find lots of kits in the Character Papercrafts section.

Hopefully you can find some inspiration for your own projects here too.
